🚨 Trump Signals Possible Federal Gas Tax Suspension Amid Iran Crisis ⛽🔥
Gas prices across America are skyrocketing — and now President Donald Trump says relief could be coming soon.
Speaking from the Oval Office on Monday, Trump revealed he wants to temporarily suspend the federal gas tax as fuel prices continue to surge during the ongoing Iran conflict.
🗣️ “As soon as this is over with Iran, you’re going to see gasoline and oil drop like a rock,” Trump told reporters.
Currently, the U.S. federal gas tax adds:
⛽ 18.4¢ per gallon for regular gas
🚛 24.4¢ per gallon for diesel
But suspending the tax would require approval from Congress.
📈 According to AAA, the average gas price in the U.S. has climbed to $4.52 per gallon — over $1.50 higher since the conflict began.
Meanwhile, tensions remain high as:
⚠️ The Strait of Hormuz stays heavily disrupted
⚠️ Global oil supplies remain unstable
⚠️ Iran’s latest peace counterproposal puts the ceasefire “on life support,” according to Trump
Republican Senator Josh Hawley is expected to introduce legislation supporting the gas tax suspension very soon.
💬 Trump admitted the tax cut may not dramatically reduce prices, but said:
“It’s still money.”
🇺🇸 Americans are once again feeling pressure at the pump — similar to the 2022 fuel crisis during the Russia-Ukraine war.
