A 4.6 magnitude earthquake jolted Northern California early Thursday morning — waking thousands of residents in the middle of the night!
📍 The quake struck around 1:40 AM, centered near Boulder Creek in the Santa Cruz Mountains, and was felt across a massive 100-mile area, including San Francisco.
😨 People reported being suddenly awakened by emergency alerts — followed by their beds, walls, and windows shaking for several seconds.
➡️ Areas as far north as Petaluma also felt the tremor, showing just how wide the impact was.
✅ Good news: There are no immediate reports of serious damage or injuries.
⚠️ But here’s the concern:
This isn’t the first time. Back in February, multiple smaller earthquakes hit the Bay Area — including a 4.2 magnitude quake near San Ramon. Experts say this region has experienced earthquake swarms for decades, meaning more tremors could follow.
💬 Imagine waking up to your entire house shaking — how would you react?
